A Christmas Survey

Hello, precious girls! I saw this survey on another blog and thought it was really fun, so I thought I would post my answers on this blog! I absolutely LOVE Christmas. It is by far my favorite holiday. (Next runner up is Thanksgiving!) So, I thought it would be fun for us to share a little bit about our Christmas's. Feel free to leave your answers in a comment. I would LOVE to hear them!

1. Fresh Tree or Fake Tree
Fake (As much as I love the smell of a fresh one, I am completely allergic…as is the rest of the fam!)

2. Favorite Ornament
I have 2. For some reason I am completely enamored with this gumball ornament we’ve had since I was little, nothing special about it, I just like it. Then we have this Santa you press and it sings to you. Always a joy!

3. Favorite Christmas Song
"Jesus Born on This Day" (Either by Mariah Carey or Avalon) , “Ring the Bells” by Travis Cottrell, “All I Want for Christmas” by Mariah Carey

4. Favorite Tradition
Driving around looking at lights (Especially in Prestonwood!), all while enjoying some Amy Grant or Mariah Carey Christmas in the CD player, and sipping on some Hot Chocolate. This is especially fun when I’m with my girlfriends.

5. Favorite Gift Ever Received
When Rollerblades first came out, both my brother and I really wanted some. However, they were quite pricey so my parents told us to not expect them because it was out of the budget. So, Christmas morning we were completely surprised when there was rollerblades for each of us sitting by our stocking. Needless to say, we rollerbladed the rest of the day!

6. Favorite Christmas Meal
Turkey, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, fruit salad, rolls, cheese ball and crackers and a chocolate pie to finish it off.

7. Favorite Christmas Cookie
Pillsbury sugar cookies you can decorate on your own! They are so soft!

8. Favorite Place To Be
Colorado with the rest of our extended family!

9. Favorite Memory
The Christmas Eve that it snowed in Houston is pretty high up there, however, last Christmas in Colorado it snowed ALL day. It was indeed a very white Christmas, and the only day it snowed the whole time we were there!

10. Favorite Christmas Movie
My top 3 favorites are: “Elf”, “Christmas Vacation” and “A Christmas Story” H-I-L-A-R-I-O-U-S!

So, what about you? Merry "Early" Christmas!

This is from one of your 242 girls..

FAKE TREE

My Favorite ornament is my nutcracker ballerina that I got at a show.. and I also like this snow man ornament I got from a friend last year.

I like nutcracker music, and I like "carol of the bells". But I'm starting to like "do u hear what I hear?" by Third Day.

My Favorite tradition is ALSO looking at Christmas lights.. but I like RIVER OAKS a little more then Prestonwood! What they do to the trees looks AMAZING!

My Favorite gift was my barbie house when I was a kid... I wasn't expecting it and I was SO EXCITED when I saw it Christmas morning.

I don't have a Favorite Christmas meal... every dessert we have made on Christmas has turned out to be a disaster! Hopefully not this year!

Just plain sugar cookies for me.

Home by the fire.

The Christmas it snowed, ALL Christmas eve my friends and I sat outside waiting for it to snow... and the minute we went inside for dinner it started snowing! And the year my great grandma spent it with us... her stocking was a HUGE pair of old lady underwear with her name on it! It was pretty funny.

My NEW favorite Christmas movie is "The Nativity Story" then "ELF" and then "Christmas Vacation"

Merry Christmas Lindsee!

Only a real tree for me. We had to import a fake tree when we lived in S'pore and ever since then, when possible, I love a real tree.

My favorite ornament: every year, no matter how close to Christmas, we wait until everyone is here and we put ornaments on the tree together. I take the ornaments out of their wrappings and the kids put them on the tree. I love looking at all of them, especially the ones that were made when y'all were in elementary school!

I always listen to The Messiah at least a dozen times during the Christmas season.

Traditionally, we decorate the tree together.

OK, this is really going to date me...I've gotten some great gifts over the years, but the one that stands out are the go-go boots I got when I was in 5th grade. Really groovy!!!

In addition to the turkey dinner on Christmas day, I try to make homemade Cinnamon rolls for Christmas morning. Its time consuming to make the rolls and I usually only make them once or twice a year.

I actually have a plate of sugar cookies I made last week and I'm waiting for the kids to get home (from A&M) so we can decorate them together...if there's any left after I get done 'sampling' them!

I don't really care where I am as long as I'm with family.

When we were in Scotland, we woke up Christmas morning and it was snowing. We had HUGE sliding doors all across the living room wall and we opened the curtains and watched it snow instead of opening presents...for a while anyway.

If I don't watch It's a Wonderful Life (with Jimmy Stewart) at least once, it's not really Christmas!!!

Have a wonderful Christmas season, and, yes - it's CHRISTMAS...not just a winter holiday!!!
